By making landscape better, we make people better.

Who we are

Jon Sheaff and Associates (JSA) is an award-winning landscape architecture practice that delivers strategy and design for landscape and public realm projects across the UK.

We recognise the capacity of landscape to deliver a significant set of positive social, environmental and economic outcomes and we incorporate this understanding into our work on green infrastructure strategy, masterplanning, design and construction.

As our ground-breaking work on natural capital accounting shows, we work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and a wide variety of professional and academic disciplines to conserve and promote the value of landscape and the natural environment. We continue to explore new ways to add value to our work.

We are a small energetic practice that delivers big.

What others say about us

Jon Sheaff & Co have a client focused approach and have been a pleasure to work alongside. The team were supportive, driven and accommodating to our needs and have a great team of friendly professionals within the practice who have been invaluable in helping us achieve the aims of our project.

We appointed JSA to act as lead design consultant for our project to restore Great Linford Manor Park via an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund. We’ve enjoyed working with the JSA team, who quickly understood what we wanted to achieve through our project. As well as producing technical landscape designs that met our objectives to restore the heritage of the park and make it more accessible by the community, their guidance and assistance through the project development process, including our successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, was most valuable.

Throughout my six years as Chairman at Avenue House Estate I worked with Jon Sheaff to produce and deliver a prize-winning restoration of the 4 hectares of gardens, and many of the buildings.  From the initial concept of the project, produced pro-bono, to steering it through the HLF and other grant application processes, design of the scheme, local consultation on it, and project delivery to meet a very tight set of objectives and financial targets, I found Jon a pleasure to work with, and his systematic approach gave me a clear oversight of the project at all times.

In 2010 our Playground on Brook Green, Hammersmith was in urgent need of renewal and upgrade. We engaged Jon to help us design and oversee the installation of a new facility based on creative play principles as opposed to the more prescriptive format we had had since the late 1990’s. Jon’s design has proved very popular. Our playground now attracts up to 500 children on busy days and it is clear that visitors to it enjoy themselves a lot more than they had previously.  The Project has been an enduring success.

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham commissioned JSA to produce our new Open Spaces Strategy. This is a truly exemplary piece of work that has quickly proved to be a game changer in terms of the Council’s approach to green spaces. There is now a wider appreciation of the value of the Borough’s parks in supporting key corporate priorities around health and well-being, regeneration and civil society. These feature prominently in our Borough Manifesto. The strategy has enabled the Council to secure several millions of pounds of external capital investment for parks’ projects across the Borough
